Marketing your intranet

I need some ideas on the best way to market my intranet site.
A launch party is always fun with some gimmics (pens and mousemats) along with competitions. Has anyone got any particular funky ideas, of who to market your intranet site in your company for the first time.

I need to make all the employees love it!
